Standing up straight, shoulders back and head held high is a sure-fire way to quickly look and feel better. Yet all the lovingly repeated cradling, protecting, carrying, hugging, feeding, bending, picking up, cradling, protecting, hugging, feeding, bending and picking up of motherhood can wreak havoc on our posture. This of course will eventually wreak havoc on our health and well-being. Here is a super simple yet effective way to straighten up. Stand with your back against a wall and move the heels of your feet, your buttocks, shoulders and your head back to touch the wall. Take a few breaths and feel your shoulders lower. Continue breathing (duh) and walk away from the wall. I love to do this when I am getting ready in the morning or find myself stressed during the day - I literally walk away new and improved.
